DJ Purple Rain, a stalwart in the music and entertainment industry, has crafted a dynamic and multifaceted career over the past 27 years. Beginning her journey in Los Angeles, Southern California, she first made her mark as a live sound engineer for the biker blues band, The Rouges, back in 1997. Not one to be confined to a single genre or role, she delved into the underground rave scene, spinning House and Trance tracks from 1998 to 2001. Her passion for electronic dance music (EDM) also led her to produce and create three original tracks in 2003, showcasing her versatility and deep understanding of the genre.
From 2007 to 2009, DJ Purple Rain expanded her expertise into the video game industry, working with renowned companies such as EA, Activision, and Pandemic Studios. Her audio work during this period contributed to the immersive experiences that gamers have come to expect from these prestigious firms. In the summer of 2019, she relocated to Vancouver, WA, where she rekindled her DJ career, performing at various parties, roller derby events, and conventions, much to the delight of her loyal fans.
When she is not behind the DJ decks, DJ Purple Rain dons another set of wheels as a jammer for Crow City Derby in the Washington Hillsboro area and the Rose City Wreckers in Portland's Oaks Park. Her diverse talents also extend to movie prop building, where she excels as the Prop & Uniform Coordinator and Team Medic for the Portland Ghostbusters, a 501.C.3 non-profit charity cosplay group. Additionally, she co-hosts the Ghost Heads Nerd Talk Podcast, available on YouTube and Spotify, where she shares her insights and passion with a broader audience. Trained in CPR/AED, first aid, and heat and cold emergency response, DJ Purple Rain embodies a unique blend of creativity, skill, and community spirit, making her a true renaissance woman in the entertainment world.
